First time visiting Animal Kingdom!

Disney Horticulture has 5 departments: gardeners, arborists, irrigation, pest management, and leadership.

For the first 2 weeks of work, we were meticulously scheduled for 40 hours of training in all the different areas of the pest management department. I’ve been learning a lot and really enjoying it! Basically, the pest management department controls the general household pests and the native wildlife on all of Disney’s property. They preform preventative maintenance, answer corrective calls from cast members and guests, and educate cast members about the pests.

Disney is a NO KILL company. Injured rabbits, alligators, snakes, birds, etc all go to Disney’s animal rehabilitation center. Some people actually abandon their pets here for this reason.
